Here's a bit about me,

From the Top

Photography has been a passion of mine starting from way back. When I was about 8, my sister took the family camera, a Kodak DC4800, and modeled off her favorite outfit in the backyard. After seeing the end result and realizing what this amazing handheld computer could do, I had to get my hands on that thing, too.

In the years following, I took many, many "selfies" with our point and shoot camera, but had an appreciation for the art and what I had seen others do as well, just didn't quite know how to execute that. When I had reached high school, I learned there was a photography class available with half of the semester studying film and the other half being digital photography. In film, I got the experience to work in a darkroom and in digital, I worked in a studio setting. I preferred, and still do, film photography because there's something about physically working with photos and the patience it takes to develop a vision. Although, with it being much more accessible, my most recent work has been with digital photography and I can still very much so appreciate Photoshop to alter the photo in ways to perfect it.

The Main Focus

What I love most about taking pictures is capturing a moment and making it permanent. As you may have noticed, everything that I've done is outside and the biggest reason for that is because of most of my subjects: critters, creatures and landscapes. My goal is to get the beauty of the world around us put on display: seen closer, seen in a different light, through a different point of view.
